I purchased our birdcage card holder this weekend and I am in love with it. It was purchased at Marshalls for a $12 steal! Score.

Now I'm hoping we'll get lots of cards to fill it up!

Girls just wanna have fun

So my girls all ordered their bridemaid dresses today from RK Bridal. We ordered Bill Levkoff style number 633 in Petal Pink. I'm so excited because everything seems to be falling into place perfectly.
I can't wait to see the dresses on all three of my beautiful girls.

I'm in love with vintage birdcages! I'd like to use one as a cardholder for the wedding. Ugh. Let the grueling process of searching begin. I'm specifically looking for one with a vintage/Moroccan feel because it would compliment the venue so well. Oh and one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg too because remember I am after all a "Budget Bride". I'm sure I'll justify buying one by saying I'll use it later some way or another. Maybe I'll buy a bird.. yea right.

Happy Birthday Jaime James

Today, one year ago we adopted James. We weren't sure when her Birthday is so we decided to celebrate it the day we adopted her. She's the best dog anyone could ever ask for and I'm so happy she's ours.
James,

I hope it's been a good year for you baby. You've made us so happy and you continue to do so every day! You're such a smart puppy and such a good dog. We don't care about the shoes, or the coffee table... or the bed....or the base boards. They were probably worth chewing anyhow, but please no more....

XOXO

Invites are finally done!

Lookie lookie what I received today! I finally got my invites and couldn't be happier with the finished product.
I'm officially in full blown wedding mode! I've been so excited to start working on these I've completely under-estimated what a pain in the arse they'd be. I'm sure that me changing my mind every five minutes about design doesn't help either.
In the end I've decided to go with a belly band design with a bow attached. I'm making everything by hand so I figure if one has taken me as long as it has today I'd only have another 30 or so hours to go! Whoo Hooo.

Why did I decide to go the DIY route again? Obviously there is something wrong with me.

Inside of Pocket fold

In the end I love the finished product, and am super proud of myself for completing them myself. All in all the cost was definitely more than I had expected. With printing, calligraphy, pocket folds, gluing, mailing, and the cost of stamps I ended up spending 8+ dollars on each invitation. OUCH. I'm sure if I would have had someone else print and assembly it would have been a little bit more but I'm not sure by much.

So my advice to DIY brides is to keep a careful eye out on how much your spending because it all adds up really freaking fast and sometimes DIY is not always cheaper.

I <3 Date Night.

Thursday nights Fiancé and I have our date nights, and I can't begin to tell you how much I love them! Last night we drove down to the beach grabbed some 'zza from Piola's tried to watch a movie but didn't because they all sucked (and we missed all the movie times anyhow) so instead we walked around Lincoln road, went into the art museum, grabbed some ice-cream then went home.

Pretty good night if I say so myself.

On another note Piola's 'Moderna' pizza is amazing! I simply can not get enough of this pizza. If you haven't had some yet I suggest you go try it.

Now where are my invites?!?! I'm been waiting very impatiently for them to arrive.

The Adventures of a Girl and her Pet Rock

I haven't posted in what seems like a million years. I've been really busy, busy doing what? Well... doing nothing.

Ever have so much to do you don't know where to start? I swear this whole wedding thing is driving me nuts. I have to remind myself why I even started this blog to begin with ( I wanted to document every single detail during what is supposed to be the best and most exciting time of my life) so I can stick to the program. I will blog at least once a day until the wedding from now on. I swear!

When I got engaged I had no idea how much hard work would come with this little diamond on my left finger.
